What tutoring fixes quickly
Broken foundations, exam presentation and pacing are the three areas where a good tutor shows results within weeks. University lectures move at the syllabus's pace, not yours, and a one-on-one session is the only place where a shaky basic can be rebuilt without embarrassment.
What it cannot replace
Tutoring cannot substitute your own practice hours or attendance. If you sit through classes passively, no tutor will change your result. Treat sessions as guided practice, not entertainment.
How to judge value in the first two weeks
After two weeks you should be able to solve a previous-year question you could not attempt before, and you should know exactly what to do in your independent study time. If neither is true, change the tutor rather than abandoning the idea.
